Abba offer a comprehensive grab crane supply and installation service. We only offer B4 specification grab cranes, and work with Hiab, HMF and Terex.
We hold stock of Hiab 12.83 and 15.91 models in Dover. HMF 1244, is often available ex stock in St Helens.
Sub-frames are manufactured using profiled cleat plates, and parallel flange channel, all structural joints are thoroughly welded and checked
Hydraulic installations are completed using the best components available, bent axis pumps are fitted as standard. Completed installations undergo a testing regime to ensure safe installation and stability. Certification is then issued.
At Abba we prefer to offer stabilised tipping gears with grab cranes and favour the Edbro TS range. Multi stage gears are available for less arduous applications.
A specific range of options are available which relate specifically to grab trucks, these will include road saw racks, trench rammer racks, lockers and tow bars.
We now include specification sheets, and web site links to our preferred grab crane partners. Outreach and lift against various cranes can be compared, although it is important to remember that the larger tonnage and outreach cranes will not be suitable for installation onto 6x4 chassis. The retracted boom lengths on some cranes may also be unsuitable for some 6x4 chassis. When comparing grab crane data, it should be remembered that the bucket and rotator will not be included in the weight calculations (approximately 500Kgs)
